About

Jonathan is a geographer who specializes in the political ecologies of cities in Africa. His principal research interests explore the intersections between emerging climate change and energy agendas, urban infrastructures and issues of poverty and inequality. He has recently completed his PhD at the Department of Geography, Durham University, 'Reconfiguring electricity infrastructures in Accra and Cape Town; Understanding the political ecologies of networked urbanism'. Jonathan is now working at LSE Cities on the Urban Uncertainty project and is about to start a four year investigation into urban energy transitions in Ghana, South Africa and Uganda at Durham University.
