I'm an Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics Engineering (DEI) of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the University of Coimbra (FCTUC). Before joining FCTUC, I had been at the School of Arts of the Portuguese Catholic University in Porto for twelve years. I have a PhD from the University of Minho (UM) where I worked at the Ubicomp group on interactive public display systems, an MSc in Mobile Systems also from the UM, and a Licenciatura from the Engineering Faculty of the University of Porto. I'm a researcher at the Research Center for Science and Technology of the Arts (CITAR) of the School of Arts - Porto where I am currently editor of the CITAR Journal. I enjoy programming, especially for new interactive experiences, and I have developed several Processing libraries for interfacing with new input devices. I have also collaborated with various artists in the development of interactive art installations. See my projects page for details. My research interests include HCI, tangible interfaces, touch and gesture-based interfaces, interactive public displays, ubiquitous and mobile computing. Google Scholar Citations author page:
