Jos van Leeuwen is Associate Professor in Interaction Design at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. Previously, he was associate professor at Eindhoven University of Technology and at the University of Madeira, Portugal, where he taught subjects in computational design and interaction design in several undergraduate, graduate, and PhD programmes. He was co-founder and member of the board of directors of the Madeira Interactive Technologies Institute and adjunct faculty of Carnegie Mellon University.
His role at the Faculty of IT & Design at The Hague University is to provide leadership in developing the domains of Interaction Design and User Experience Design, both in research and education.
His research interests are in social design in the urban context: What innovations are possible at the intersection of the physical and digital environments that we inhabit? What design approach and guidelines do we need at this intersection to create socially relevant innovation?
