I was born in Antequera (Málaga, Spain) in December 1971. I see translation as a fascinating blend of different languages and cultures, but also of different points of view and sciences. Currently, I am especially interested in applying the findings and discoveries made in the academic world to professional practice. More specifically, I aim to create tools to develop the capabilities of translators and editors by systematizing and automating some of the cognitive processes used in these activities. I work as a full time translator and editor in a translation agency that translates all kinds of texts, but mainly localization projects of software, documentation and web pages. This job brings me the opportunity to identify the issues that usually come up in real translation projects and test potential solutions for them. Besides, I am also keen on programming languages, 3D objects modelling, fantastic movies, aquatic sports, all kinds of music and also computer games.
