About

I'm an associate professor of organic chemistry at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. The major focus of my research group is the synthesis of guanine derivatives that self-assemble into artificial supramolecular G-quadruplexes. The main goal of our research is to use these G-derivatives to understand and master molecular self-assembly in aqueous environments, which we hope will serve as the basis for the development of probes for cell-biology studies and novel therapeutics.
