About

Since graduation from the University of Chicago, I have obtained graduate degrees from the University of Kentucky and the University of Michigan culminating in my doctorate from the latter. As of this writing, I am pursuing postdoctoral work at Argonne National Laboratory. My personal travels, studies at Michigan, and work at Argonne have taken me to the UK, Italy, Switzerland, Taiwan, Japan, China, Brazil, and Chile including time spent on the beaches of Rio, the streets of Tokyo, and a remote astronomical observatory in the Andes. I have developed a passion for education and public outreach resulting in the "Talk to Joe the Astronomer" program.
