Joseph Kevin McLaughlin is an accomplished epidemiologist in Rockville, Maryland. He currently serves as president of the International Epidemiology Institute (IEI) and chairman of the International Epidemiology Foundation. In addition, Joseph Kevin McLaughlin is a professor and researcher at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, and an adjunct professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health.
Joseph McLaughlin holds a master of science, a master of public health, and a PhD from the University of Minnesota. He teaches at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, and previously held positions at the National Cancer Institute, including that of deputy chief of the Biostatistics Branch in the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Program.
Outside his professional responsibilities, he supports a number of charitable and cultural causes. He is a leading donor to the Wikimedia Foundation, a charitable organization that supports a number of wiki-based projects, including Wikipedia. Furthermore, he is a member of the board of the Cosmos Club of Washington, DC, and of that of the Film Noir Foundation of San Francisco.
