I am a Graphic Design and Product Design and studied jewellery production and stone setting in 2004. Then in 2011 I completed an MA in Three Dimensional Design at the Manchester Metropolitan University, investigating the perception of contemporary trends of electronic devices, including product semantics, nostalgia, and an emerging hypothesis on the “essential characteristics” of objects. Nowadays I am undertaking a PhD research in product customisation to be completed in October 2017. The focus of my research is on evaluating the consumer attachment and value enhancement towards mass customised products, particularly where the process of customisation is governed by randomised systems, for example through computer algorithms, (i.e. customised for the consumer rather than by the consumer).
