About

Born in Lima, Peru, 1978. While in elementary school he had as main interests the natural and social sciences. The interest in scholarly topics came from his family, where parents and siblings were very important in his formation. During his childhood could not decide between archaeology or chemistry, but finally he decided for the latter and applied to Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree and having met the love of his life (also a chemist). He started migrating from pure to applied sciences, doing a doctoral degree on thin films for applications in microelectronics (University of Delaware) and later a postdoctoral degree on gold-based catalysts (Harvard University). His wife, Diana, and his daughter, Andrea, went with him to the USA, and when the time was set to return to Peru it was a four-member family. It will be soon a five-membered family with the birth of Camilo and Marcelo. To complete the professional migration, now he is at a engineering college, enjoying doing several hands-on projects with students, trying to address the challenges his country faces and spending time with his family.
