About

I have bachelor degree in Pharmacy and Biochemistry, MsC in Genetics, PhD in Molecular & Cellular Biology and posdoctoral in Analytical Chemistry (Metabolomics). During my post-graduate studies and post-doctoral training, using Leishmania parasites, I learned how to explore and extract biological information from genomes in order to generate organisms genetically modified. Induce changes on biochemical pathways to attenuate or increase the parasite's virulence is a good strategy understand the host-parasite relationship and propose a vaccine candidate. The molecular characterization of these engineered organisms give me a deep knowledge in molecular and cellular methodologies, including proteomic and metabolomic approaches, which had put me into the emergent field of systems biology. Another field that I am devoted is the biological screening of compounds actives.
