I am currently a PhD student in the Department of Government at Harvard University. I am also an Affiliated Researcher of the Portuguese Institute of International Relations and Security (IPRIS). Previously I was a research consultant for Handicap International, a Researcher at the Centre for Social Science Research at the University of Cape Town, and a DGARQ/FLAD Research Fellow at the Portuguese national archives. My research interests include civil wars, regime transitions, violence, crime, genocide, and the politics of the Portuguese-speaking world. I hold a B.A. in Political Science from Yale University and an M.Soc.Sc. in Sociology from the University of Cape Town.
