Karel Lemr is a Professor and Head of the Department of Analytical Chemistry at Palacký University Olomouc, the Czech Republic, a Research Programme Leader at Regional Centre of Advanced Technologies and Materials, Palacký University. He spent 6 months at Ca´Foscari University of Venice, Italy (Prof. A. Marcomini) and 3 months at Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN (Prof. R. G. Cooks). In 2007, Karel Lemr and coworkers described nanoDESI and its application. He is interested in study of ionization processes, ion mobility-mass spectrometry and LC/MS in different areas, e.g. forensic or food analysis. He has published more than 100 papers, teaches courses of analytical chemistry, chromatography, mass spectrometry. Financial support for his research is from Czech Science Foundation, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, and European Union. Commencing from 2007, he has become a researcher at Institute of Microbiology, Academy of Sciences, Prague (part time job).
