Current Owner, President, and Chief Financial Officer of the general contracting enterprise, Craffey & Co., Inc., Kevin Craffey began his prolific career in the building industry in 1976. Born and raised in Boston, Massachusetts, Mr. Craffey commands over 30 years of experience in the state’s construction industry. Starting out in the contracting business with Cape Cod Lathing and Plastering, Inc., in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts, he was afforded a position as a carpenter with Quinn Construction five years later. Ultimately attaining the titles of Superintendent and Carpenter Steward, Kevin Craffey established himself an exceptional craftsman and became ready to found his own contracting venture.
Establishing K & J Interiors, Inc., in Plymouth, Massachusetts, in 1989, Kevin Craffey extended his construction services to include retail, commercial, and institutional contracts. Primarily providing framing, drywall, and finishing carpentry fabrication throughout the greater New England region, K & J Interiors has grown to encompass more than 350 union employees. Due to the company’s success, Mr. Craffey set up the KJ Realty Trust Corporation to handle projects related to residential, retail, and office operations within the Avon, Hanover, and Plymouth regions of Massachusetts. Accumulating an extensive project-portfolio including the revitalization of the historic Buttner Building, K & J Interiors completed approximately $80 million worth of projects within its first five years of business.
As a result of such dramatic company success with K & J Interiors, Kevin Craffey facilitated the capital to found his second, more comprehensive general contracting business, Craffey & Co., Builders Inc. Since its foundation in 1995, the contracting agency has facilitated big box, mall addition, and retail projects in over 45 states. In his role as a general contractor, he has received sought-after contracts including the restoration of the renowned Mountain View Development in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Kevin Craffey received his undergraduate education in business administration and completed multiple carpentry certificates with the Associated General Contractors of America and the Massachusetts Carpenters Training Center.
