Prof Kevin Harding holds a BSc and PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cape Town. Following his studies, he spent time at Environmental Resources Management (ERM SA) working on Major Hazardous Installation (MHI), Hazardous Identification (HazID), environmental compliance auditing projects for various companies in South Africa, the UK, China, Kenya and Nigeria. Dr Harding currently works at the University of the Witwatersrand as a researcher and lecturer to 2nd year chemical and metallurgical engineering students. He was the co-founder of the Industrial and Mining Water Research Unit (IMWaRU), looking at various cross disciplinary water related issues. His research focuses on ways to reduce environmental burdens through the use of biotechnology, Life Cycle Assessment and related fields.
