About

A failure of liquid lubrication in sliding, oscillating and/or rotating contacts under high contact stress in micro/nano -scale systems encourages us to look for a new way of lubrication. Thus, solid lubrication might be the one which can deliver high efficiency of the systems. However, the solid lubricants must be in the order of atomic thickness. Therefore, the two-dimensional materials such as graphene, MoS2, niobium selenide etc might be a suitable candidate for this purpose. Above all, graphene is known be the best amongst all to reducing friction and wear at micro/nanoscale contacts as it shows combined superlative properties such as excellent optical, electronic, and mechanical properties, etc.
