About

Bringing together proxy-based evidence for past climate changes, and physical understanding based on modeling is crucial for a good prediction of future climate. My current research focuses on the dependence of climate variability on the mean state of the earth system. To assess this, I investigate how this variability is recorded by terrestrial and marine paleoclimate archives, and in climate model experiments. My tools are methods from time series analysis, complex systems science, nonlinear dynamics and multivariate data analysis, which I use, develop, test and apply to data from proxy records and climate models.
