Water efficiency in commercial buildings

About

Kristin Malone is a doctoral student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) and a LEED® Green Associate. As a participant at the Center for Architecture Science and Ecology (CASE, www.case.rpi.edu), Malone addresses complexities inherent to the global problem of water resource scarcity, relative to architectural and local ecological factors. Her primary research is focused on building-integrated water reclamation at the intersection of architectural articulation, effective energy management, building-systems integration, and social implications. Through the research and previous professional experience in design, she maintains her commitment to pursue and converge environmental criteria with the design process. Malone recently achieved two fellowships from the Syracuse Center of Excellence and RPI for her doctoral work. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture and a Master of Science in Architectural Sciences from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
