About

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Purdue University's Rhetoric and Composition program. My primary areas of research are professional and technical writing, medical and scientific rhetoric, public and civic engagement, rhetorical theory and history, digital rhetorics and new media writing, and problem-based learning. My research in these areas has been recognized by the 2015 Crouse Emergent Scholar Award for both promise and achievement in professional writing scholarship. I also teach a wide-range of courses in introductory, public, and professional writing. In Fall 2014, I was formally inducted as an associate fellow into Purdue University's Teaching Academy, the university's highest recognition of excellence in teaching and teaching-related scholarship for both faculty and graduate instructors.
