About

Lance Cummings is an assistant professor of English in the Professional Writing program at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In addition to researching histories of rhetoric, Lance explores rhetoric and writing in technologically and linguistically diverse contexts in both his research and teaching. He is developing hybrid and online courses at UNCW, which require students to collaborate in these diverse spaces. This work has been published in Making Space: Writing Instruction, Infrastructure, and Multiliteracies. His article, “Flipping the Online Classroom: The Asynchronous Workshop,” will be published in the upcoming issue of Business and Professional Communication Quarterly. He is also working on several projects that explore the relationships between religious rhetorics and professional spaces, both historical and contemporary.
