Lawrence P. Belo is a Chemical Engineering PhD Student at the University of Newcastle, Australia and at the same time a casual academic with the School of Environmental and Life Sciences. He was an Assistant Professorial Lecturer at the Chemical Engineering Department of De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines from 2002 to 2010. He received his MS in Environmental Engineering and Management (with high distinction and outstanding master’s thesis) in 2008 and BS in Chemical Engineering in 2001 from De La Salle University, Manila, Philippines. He has received the 7th highest score in the national chemical engineering licensure examination in May 2002. He received the Outstanding Thesis Award for Earth Science and Space Technology Applications in the 2009 Philippine Council for Advanced Science and Technology Research and Development (PCASTRD). His research interests are on Water Quality Management, Water and Energy Pinch Analysis and Carbon Capture and Storage.
