Mr. Pargiolas began his career in 1992, on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange as a Clerk for the market-making firm, Cornerstone Partners. Shortly thereafter, Lou opened Remy Capital, LLC, where he traded for his own account as well as provided training and eventual financial backing and oversight to over 25 traders. Mr. Pargiolas was a Floor Official, Crowd Representative, Market Maker, and a member of both the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Board Options Exchange from 1993 through 2005. He served on the Floor Official Committee from 1995-2001, and was a Crowd Representative in the CL pit from 1997-2000. Mr. Pargiolas also had his own Broker/Dealer under the name “Pargiolas Louis /BD” (CIK: 0001051102) which he operated until 2004. Later, he also served as head trader at Eventus, a Florida hedge fund.
While continuing to trade securities for his own account, Mr. Pargiolas began his projects with commercial real estate and provided financing, acquired land, and helped manage the development of El Retiro Centro Comercial in Bogota, a 225,000 square foot shopping mall. In tandem with this project, Mr. Pargiolas developed the Samsung building, an 18 story Bogota office complex, and the Trump Ocean Club International Hotel and Tower in Panama City. Mr. Pargiolas also took part in the development of the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Resort in Panama. Mr. Pargiolas has also spearheaded numerous philanthropic projects serving as Vice President and Member of the Board of Directors of the American Society of Bogotá Colombia; an organization that works directly with the United States Ambassador, Embassy personnel, and other supporting groups to raise funds to sponsor scholarships for the youth of Colombia.
Mr. Pargiolas attended Arizona State University as a Finance major.
