My work is situated at the intersection of research, design practice and entrepreneurship. In particular, my interest is in how design can be used as a practice and as a way of thinking to support innovation, entrepreneurial activities and management processes.
I have founded and managed 6 design companies and conducted research and teaching activities at universities such as Harvard, MIT, Polytechnic of Milan, Malmö University and University of the Arts London. I (co)authored some 70 publications, including 3 books and articles in journals such as Technovation, R&D Management, Journal of Knowledge Management, Journal of Business Research, Leonardo and Visual Studies.
I serve as a consultant for public and private organisations (the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research) in order to help define strategies, policies, and funding schemes to foster innovation. I am currently affiliated with Aalborg University in Denmark.
