About

I was born in La Serena, Chile, graduated from Colegio Inglés Católico de La Serena, and then moved to Santiago to study Biochemistry. My first research seminars were in cell physiology, studying the effect of purinergic agonists on ciliary beat frequency of primary cell cultures of rat oviduct and human nasal epithelial cells. Then I did my thesis on mechanostimulation of HeLa cell cultures and its effect on purine release and signaling on these cultures. After that I started working in my actual job.
