About

Biologist with 30 years of expertise in wildlife ecology, conservation and management, specially in protected areas. I have research on several vertebrates (mostly mammals), but bats are closest to my heart. Geographically, my area of interest is western Mexico. I have directed 20 undergraduate, 5 master and 1 PhD finished thesis. 15 of my undergraduate students did continue to graduate studies (3 of them are PhD now). I have been President of the Mexican Society of Mammalogy (2010-2012). Currently working on bats' bioacousticts, river otter and analysis of natural protected areas.
