About

Maira Carvalho received her Bachelor's degree in Communications (Advertising and Journalism) from the University of Brasilia, Brazil, in 2004. Later, in 2011, she received her M. Sc. degree in Interactive Technology from the University of Tampere, Finland, where her work and research focused on the development of applications for low literacy users. She has more than eleven years of experience as information architect, interface designer and web developer. She has worked for companies and organizations such as WWF-Brazil, Agência Click, Brazil's National Supply Company (CONAB), and at the headquarters of the International Labour Organization (ILO), in Geneva, Switzerland. Currently, she is registered as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate student at the University of Genova and TU Eindhoven, in the Netherlands.
