I’m a research assistant on a five year government funded project on theory of mind which looks at how grade 8-12 students experience the transition from elementary school to high school. We’re particularly interested in their thoughts and feelings which would help us understand how they perceive themselves and their relationships.
This research will help us to understand young people’s school experiences during a stressful and important transitional time. We think that the results of this project may lead to the development of intervention programs and curriculum materials that would promote social, cognitive and emotional competence in young people as they go through high school.
