A native of Chipata, Colombia, Maria Luisa Piraquive is a dedicated philanthropist, educator, and religious leader associated with neo-Pentecostal Christianity. Currently, she serves as the leader of the Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International (CGMJCI), an organization that she co-founded in 1972. The international ministry has grown to encompass prayer rooms in more than 40 countries and territories throughout the world. Beyond her administrative role with the organization, Maria Luisa Piraquive also regularly produces Bible study guides that are available at Church of God Ministry prayer rooms.
She holds a bachelor of education with an emphasis in literature and linguistics from the University of La Sabana. She also earned a diploma in social management and community management at Pontifical Xavierian University and studied educational management at Free University of Colombia, in Bogota. Beyond her work as a religious leader and an educator, she undertakes philanthropic projects that benefit underprivileged communities.
