About

Mariangela main research interest is to study how neurons in the nervous system receive, process and represent information and how groups of neurons cooperate with each other to extract information from the environment and use it to perform simple actions or more complex behaviors. During my PhD i focused on the modulatory role of estrogenic steroids on basal activity and on the activity-dependent synaptic plasticity in the vestibular nuclei. My PostDoc project is aimed at identifying how synaptic plasticity correlate with vestibular motor learning in both genders.
