About

The main scientific skills and competences I've developed during my research are the following: Molecular biology: Cloning, Mutagenesis, PCR, Lipofection and Electroporation. Cell Culture: Production of stably transfected Cell Lines; Production of Primary Cell Cultures – from human, pig and murine airways; Establishment of Organotypic Cultures. Electrophysiology: Micro-Ussing chamber in Native Epithelia (human/ murine airways and colon) and Cell Monolayers (Cell lines and primary organotypic cultures); Iodide Efflux (Cell lines); and Halide-eYFP sensitive Iodide Influx (Kinetics in Microplate reader); Patch-clamp (Port-a-patch). Biochemical and Cell Biology: Western blot; Co-IP; Metabolic Pulse-Chase (with Radioactive labeling); Immunofluorescence (Cells and Tissues); Histopathology (Frozen and paraffin embed tissue preparation, cutting and histology staining); Confocal Microscopy; ELISA; Flow Citometry. Statistical tools: Descriptive statistics; Parametric tests for Independent (or paired) samples (t-Student test; ANOVA; ANCOVA, post-hoc tests); Classification analysis (Clusters and Discriminant analysis); Linear and Non-linear Regression; Mixed Models - Linear Regression.
