About

Mark brings 14 years of Marriott leadership experience in the hospitality industry – both from the hotel operations and sales side to the professional learning & development discipline. Mark leads the start-up training & development team charged with creating and sustaining lodging operations training initiatives for Rooms, Food & Beverage, and Engineering disciplines. Mark's training design & development niche is multimedia development (print, video, and eLearning)...putting graphic design abilities, sound instructional design principles, and multimedia / cognitive theories to work. Learning programs developed emphasize the hotel operators' need to learn the "nuts and bolts" for specific operations tasks...whether it's implementing a new breakfast program, revamping the way guest rooms are cleaned, or skill-building initiatives for "heart-of-the-house" associates: Engineers, Housekeepers, Culinary professionals, etc. Mark has traveled and worked with associates in 34 countries around the world and strives to create and adapt educational materials to meet the needs of busy adult learners, globally, who come from various backgrounds, cultures, and work experiences. Mark has a B.S. in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management from Penn State University, an M.B.A. from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA, and an M.Ed. in Adult Education from Penn State University. He is beginning coursework for a Doctorate in Human & Organizational Learning at George Washington University.
