Born in Truro, NS I was interested in science very early. I graduated from South Colchester High School in 2000 with high honours then attended the Nova Scotia Agricultural College. I remained at the university to obtain and BSc and MSc, in which I won the governor general's medal and published 4 papers (in addition to a thesis and numerous abstracts). I graduated from a PhD program in Laval University in 2010 with a very well received thesis, several published abstracts, and an anticipated 5 published articles (3 were published before thesis was defended). Currently I am enjoying life with my wife and we are expecting a child soon.
