Research interests


I'm a physician with a primary interest in the pathophysiology of type 2 diabetes mellitus and the clinical effects of newly developed treatments for this disease. An updated list of peer-reviewed publications can be found using pubmed or through web of science. In summary I've written or made contributions to 25+ scientific articles, abstracts and book chapters in the field of endocrinology, especially diabetes and sex hormone research. My PhD dissertation entitled: “The effects of the Glucagon Like Peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist exenatide on beta-cell function, postprandial dysmetabolism and other cardiovascular risk markers in subjects with type 2” is scheduled for Q4 2010.
