About

First came the years in the 'lab' working mainly on the developtment and application of theoretical methods to model the structures and properties of solid and liquid materials, with emphasis on their interaction with x-ray radiations. At the Fritz-Haber Institute in Berlin I used the developed approaches in the design of new materials for the chemical industry. As researcher I have co-authored 19 highly cited articles (h-index: 12) in different scientific journals, including Science, Phys. Rev. B and physica status solidi (b). As I realized sharing of results among researchers is an essential but often overlooked part of the scientific method, I decided I wanted to give my contribution to guarantee fair review and fast publication of novel research for other scientists. As editor of a scientific periodical my task is to ensure that articles meet the journal's standards of quality, and scientific validity. My daily duties at physica status solidi include managing the peer-review process and acquisitions of new materials for pss(a) - the applied solid state physics journal of the pss family. I also contribute to the Material Science portal, MaterialsViews.com with stories from the best articles published in our journals.
