About

At Diamond Light Source I work as an Optics Scientist specializing in the design of synchrotron optics for soft X-ray beamlines. Through this work I have developed expertise in the use of many software packages for ray tracing, reflectivity and diffraction efficiency calculations, and data processing. I have also developed many of my own codes (primarily Python) for improved automation of design and data analysis tasks. My responsibilities also include supporting beamline staff in the installation and commissioning of beamline optical components. Additionally, I carry out research in the field of soft X-ray polarimetry working with the high-precision Diamond polarimeter.
