Acoustics Interdisciplinarity

Originally from Kent, I moved to Edinburgh for my first degree in arts and humanities. Following that I have taken post-grad courses in neuroscience, translational medicine and am in the process of submitting a PhD in biophysics at UWS. My PhD work looks at the effect of complex high frequency ultrasound upon macromolecules and biological materials. At present I am working at the European Marine Energy Centre as an Acoustic Engineer and Data Technician. In addition, I am studying Public International Law (specialising in natural resource and economic law) through the University of London International programme. I also used to work with interdisciplinary researchers and an extended community of people in Edinburgh interested in discussing how best to integrate, communicate between and get to know different disciplines (as well as the people who do them!) from natural science to the humanities to culture and the arts.
