Based out of the Maryland Vision Institute, K. Michelle Huzella, MD, treats patients at the facility's Hagerstown and Hancock offices. Michelle Huzella, MD, serves as manager of and ophthalmic consultant for Bella Vision, LLC, in Frederick, MD.
To prepare for her career, Dr. Huzella attended Duke University and graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology. Following graduate studies in pathology at the State University of New York at Buffalo, she enrolled at the institution’s medical school. While earning her doctor of medicine magna cum laude ,K. Michelle Huzella, MD, also performed research into glove contamination during ophthalmic surgery at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center. She continued her education at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center, the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, and Georgetown Medical Center, before completing her clinical training as chief resident at The Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.
After commencing her practice in New York, K. Michelle Huzella, MD, moved to Maryland. Prior to joining Maryland Vision Institute, she held a staff position at Southern Maryland Ophthalmology in Leonardtown and Waldorf for 15 years.
