Miloslavskaya Natalia graduated from the Moscow State Engineering Physical Institute (MEPhI) on an “Engineer-mathematician” speciality. Since that time all her working activities have been connected with the MEPhI. At first she was a researcher associate, then a post-graduate, scientific associate and a head of some scientific groups. She received the Ph.D. (1988) degree from the MEPhI in Technical Sciences. For 6 years (2005-2011) Natalia Miloslavskaya was a Vice Dean on International Affairs of the Information Security Faculty of the MEPhI (in 2011 this faculty was merged with Cybernetics Faculty). N.Miloslavskaya is currently an Associate Professor and Vice Head of the Information Security of the Banking Systems Department. At present her research interests lie in information security management systems and network security of different types of systems, for example, of the open systems (such as the Internet and Intranets) and the automated banking systems. She does research on security solutions (in particular NGFW, IDРS, security scanners, VPN), services and policies. She also studies e-Learning methods that she implements in her educational courses. She has more than 2000 tests for distance testing for her courses and has developed 20 textbooks for distance learning. Natalia Miloslavskaya is a lecturer at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI and at the Re-training Courses for specialists from the Russian financial and banking sector. More than 14000 trainees have taught her educational courses. Since 2013 she successfully conducts lectures and labs for the students from Armenia, Belorus, Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan on the international level. She has written or co-authored 62 educational materials and textbooks for her original educational courses “Vulnerability and Protection Methods in Networks”, “Virtual Private Networks”, “Information Security Monitoring”, “Information Security of Open Systems”, “Information Security Management”, “Information Security Incidents Basics”, “Information Security Risks Basics”, “Security Assessment of Information Technologies”, “Secure Information Systems” and “Information Security Maintenance Technologies for Objects”. The textbook for the “Information Security of Open Systems” educational course in 2 parts (1096 pages) has been published in 2006 and 2008 correspondently. The textbook for the “Information Security Management” educational course in 5 parts (924 pages) has been published in 2012 and revised in 2014. She has co-authored the chapter “Network Security” in the textbook titled “Securing Information and Communications Systems: Principles, technologies, and Applications (Information Security and Privacy”), published for the IFIP Summer Schools “Information and Communication Security” (IPICS) in 2008. For 5 times she was invited to conduct lectures in the framework of the IPICS (in 2002, 2003, 2005, 2015 and 2016). Main results of her research work are presented in 32 scientific and research reports and 240 papers (in Russian and English) (33 papers are indexed in Scopus and 7 in Web of Knowledge). In 2012-2013 N.Miloslavskaya has participated in the educational Master programm’s development titled “Business Continuity and Information Security Maintenence”, in implementation of which she is very deeply involved. N.Miloslavskaya acts as a supervisor and consultant of graduates and post-graduate students. More than 120 students graduated under her supervision with the highest marks at their thesis protection. She presents the results of her work at many international and national conferences and 29 times acted as a PC member at the well-known international conferences. Natalia Miloslavskaya has participated as a member in the Grading Committee for PhD candidate at the Stockholm University in 2006. From 2009 till now she acts as a member of the Advisory Board of the “Information Technologies and Control” magazine – an official publication of the John Atanasoff Society of Automatics and Informatics (Bulgaria). For 6 years (2005-2011) she was a Vice Chair of the International Federation on Information Processing working group IFIP TC11 WG11.8 (Information Security Education). For many years of active volunteer work she was awarded highest IFIP internal award - IFIP Silver Core Award 2013. From 2014 she is an IFIP TC11 WG11.8 Vice Chair again. In 2015 she was awarded INFOFORUM 2015 Silver Dagger for the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of information security. In 2016 she got 2016 Best Reviewer Award from The Society of Digital Information and Wireless Communications (SDIWC).
