About

I completed a B.Sc. (Hon.) in Psychology at Wilfrid Laurier University in 2007, where I studied memory for time and number in pigeons and rats with Dr. Angelo Santi. I completed an Honours Thesis using directed forgetting to examine rats' memory for time. I have worked at the University of Western Ontario since 2007, completing my M.Sc. degree in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience. Under the supervision of Dr. William A. Roberts, I studied overshadowing and blocking of timing in pigeons. I am currently working on my Ph.D. in Behavioural and Cognitive Neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Roberts. In my dissertation research I have been studying sequencing of stimuli in time, and the role of inhibitory stimuli on both ordinal and interval timing. Over my years as a graduate research assistant (and more recently coordinating lab research) with Dr. Roberts, I have examined facets of comparative cognition ranging from numerosity judgment to metamemory and episodic-like memory. Our most recent work has focused on examining the timing-based errors pigeons make on a mid-session reversal task, and on the propensity of rats to seek information on a t-maze.
