I am a language trainer with an MA in Educational Technology and TESOL and the Diploma in English language teaching to Adults from the Cambridge University (DELTA). I teach EAP (English for Academic Purposes) at at tertiary level in Turkey and the UK. I have worked as a language trainer in different countries for ten years and have taught general, business, technical and academic English at different levels to students of all ages and backgrounds. My main interests are developing and teaching ESP courses, appropriate use of educational technology in language learning and teaching, learner motivation, and learner autonomy. I have very strong interpersonal, intercultural, communication and organisational skills and extensive experience in working in multicultural and multi-faith environments. Some of the ESP (English for Specific Purposes) courses I have developed and taught: • English for Taxi Drivers —, • English for Aviation Maintenance Technicians, • English for City Planners — Some of my online teaching and teacher training activities: • Trainer of the pilot teacher training course in the 3D virtual world of Second Life as part of the EU-funded AVALON project. • Co-designed and moderated two online 6-week sessions for language teachers (2009, 2010) on how to use virtual worlds in language education, which drew more than 500 participants worldwide. • Co-founded a and led a professional development group for language teachers.
