With a background in Astrophysics, Planetology and Space Science Engineering, I have been working over a decade as scientific software developer and data analyst in support to ESA's Solar System missions; science operations planning, data processing and archiving activities, always in close interaction with the scientific community. During the last years I develop an interest for designing rich Internet data user interfaces and visualisations, which I believe are keys for improving the exploitation of existing scientific archives and data sets. I'm leading "Where On Mars?": an open-source project to visualise on a web-based interactive map, and increase the public awareness about, the candidate landing sites that scientists are studying for ESA's ExoMars rover, which will search for life on Mars. I'm also co-leading OpenPlanetary, an initiative to build an online-community of planetary scientists and mappers collaborating to make planetary data easier to use and share.
