Machine Learning Social Data Processing Network Analysis of Hypergraphs

About

After receiving a B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Cognitive Science at the University of Osnabrück, I've been working towards my PhD in Computer Science at Klaus Obermayer's Neural Information Processing group. I'm currently working on the analysis of hypergraphs, the natural representation of many datasets created by the "social web". On the theoretical side, this consists of generalizing concepts and procedures known for (non-hyper)graphs to hypergraphs. On the practical sides, this works towards extracting the "wisdom of the crowds" allegedly contained in, e.g., social bookmarking datasets. My current goal is to finish my PhD this year (2010).
