Pellas Nikolaos, MEd, is a PhD candidate and teaching assistant in Virtual Reality and Digital game-based learning courses at the Department of Product and Systems Design Engineering, University of the Aegean, in Greece. He holds a Master’s degree in Education. His thesis was about the utilization of 3D virtual worlds in e-Education, in which he proposed an organizational- cybernetic framework. His research interests include the use of 3D open-source virtual worlds as “Metaverse” skins in contemporary instructional formats (blended or online) for collaborative learning tasks. He has published more than 32 articles in peer-reviewed journals, International or National Conferences and book chapters for the domain of instructional design, by utilizing 3D multiuser virtual worlds.
