A veteran New York business owner, Nikos Mouyiaris has led the cosmetics manufacturer Mana Products, Inc., as founder and CEO since 1975. Growing up in Cyprus, Nikos Mouyiaris was exposed to the power of cooperatives in empowering women and helping the local economy grow. His aunt and other local women had a sewing enterprise that served the ready-to-wear clothing needs of local enterprises. This formative experience heavily influenced his current business and philanthropic endeavors.
Over the past three decades, Mana Products has expanded from a less-than-1,000-square-foot Manhattan loft into a company that employs more than 800 individuals and maintains two FDA-approved fabrication facilities in the United States. In addition to producing its own beauty care products, the firm has created pioneering formulas for a number of leading brands and helped launch the careers of noted makeup artists such as François Nars. Nikos Mouyiaris has recently expanded his business vision to include We See Beauty, which supports the efforts of local craftspeople in producing clothing and other items of aesthetic value. The company contributes a substantial portion of its profits to helping fund and create viable women-led cooperative enterprises through the We See Beauty Foundation.
