I am currently working as a Professor at the Dept. of Electrical Electronic & Systems Engineering of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (@The National University of Malaysia), where I lead the Solar Photovoltaic Research Group at the Solar Energy Research Institute. I am a visiting professor at the King Saud University of Saudi Arabia since 2010. After completing the higher secondary education from my native country, Bangladesh, I received the Japanese Ministry of Education (MONBUSHO) scholarship to pursue a diploma in Electrical Engineering (1994) at Gunma National College of Technology, Bachelor in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (1996) at Toyohashi University of Technology and Master (1998) and PhD (2001) in solar photovoltaic technology at Tokyo Institute of Technology. My areas of expertise include microelectronics, renewable energy, solar photovoltaic applications and thin film solar PV development. My research focuses on the commercialization of solar photovoltaic products from my patented entities. I am serving as the CTO of a University Spin-off company financed by the Malaysian Technology Development Center (MTDC). I have been serving as the PI and Co-PI of many government and international funded projects. I am actively involved in promoting renewable energy to the developing countries in South and South East Asia, and working as an enthusiastic promoter for the affordable renewable energy resources.
