About

PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the Computer Science School of the Spanish National University for Distance Education (UNED) and a MSc degree in Telecommunications Engineering specialized in Software Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM). At aDeNu research group, she has participated in 12 international and national research projects, published over 120 papers in various international conferences and journals and co-chaired workshops and conferences related to topics from her research. The current research interests focus on taking into account recommendation strategies to provide open source educational accessible user-centered e-learning services for learners. In more detail, it takes into account adaptation and accessibility requirements, both at design and runtime, to provide open educational user-centred services to ubiquitously and dynamically adapt to the evolving needs in the e-learning context. For this, user-centred design methods are being applied. The focus is put on applying recommendation strategies to provide adaptive navigation support in existing learning management systems. Previous research works on adaptation, collaboration and personalisation (based on combining user modelling and machine learning techniques in multi-agent architectures and making a pervasive use of educational and technological standards and open architectures) are being applied to deal with the needs derived from the functional diversity of the learners.
