About

I have been working in the research and development of methods for the control of termites, invasive species, existing in the Azores. Also participated in several workshops and training that are aimed at education and awareness on this issue. I've developed a master's thesis on local dispersal of the species Cryptotermes brevis locally through a model of cellular automata. Understanding the potential distribution of the species Cryptotermes brevis in the Azores archipelago was also an issue addressed in my thesis. Presently, as a PhD student, I work in the development of new strategies towards an integrated urban pest management. My interests are nature conservation, environmental education, diving, spear fishing and surfing. Specialties: Integrated Urban Pest Management, Ecological niche models, coastal zones management, environmental education
