Mr. Grover holds a Masters of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo where he specialized in statistical hydrology, physical hydrology and open-channel hydraulics. He is also currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Civil Engineering at Queen’s University specializing in hydrotechnical engineering. Mr. Grover has over nine years of geospatial information technology consulting experience specifically in the areas of software development, engineering analysis and strategic consulting. Most of this experience has been for clients in the hydroelectric, nuclear and highway transportation sectors. Mr. Grover has extensive experience in the development and application of geospatial information technologies for hydrologic and hydraulic modelling and meteorological analysis and snow transport phenomenon related to highway safety. Mr. Grover has many years of experience in the hydroelectric sector and is familiar with their business operations and needs. He designed and developed a spatially-enabled decision support system (AWMS) to help Ontario Power Generation's water resource engineers and operators manage their river systems and has undertaken several user-needs assessments related to applying geospatial technologies to such situations. He led two dam safety hydrotechnical studies with Ontario Power Generation in which he introduced new approaches for hydraulic and consequence modelling using GIS technologies. He has been a principal investigator on research-oriented projects including development of a 2D snow hydrology model, analysis and interpretation techniques for the determination of economic losses due to dam failures and methodologies for generating breaklines from LiDAR datasets in support of a major DEM generation and hydrologic conditioning project for OPG.
