About

The research I am currently conducting explores the idea of affordances in the music of Christian contemporary musician Chris Tomlin. Although he has written oodles of songs that are internationally known and sung, early indication is that he may use (generally) the same chord fingering in all his songs, regardless of the key. This is very possibly due to affordances of the fingerings that he uses in these chords which allow for him to play. One result of this is that his music is easily accessible and played throughout the world by young musicians playing in their local church youth group worship bands.
