About

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Social Computing group at Know-Center (Graz University of Technology). My main research interests are visualizations based on scholarly communication on the web, Science 2.0 and open science, and alternative metrics for science and research (altmetrics). Further interests include interdisciplinarity, educational technology, and knowledge management. Recently, I have concluded a Panton Fellowship of the Open Knowledge Foundation. In 2014, I was also awarded with a Marshallplan Scholarship which I spent at the Personalized Adaptive Web Systems Lab of University of Pittsburgh. In the past, I have been involved in the EU-funded projects STELLAR and APOSDLE. In 2012, I went on a secondment to Mendeley in the context of the Marie Curie project TEAM. I serve as chair for the Science 2.0 & Open Science Track at i-KNOW. Furthermore, I am an associate editor for the International Journal of Technology Enhanced Learning (IJTEL), and serve as a reviewer on several editorial boards and program committees. I am also involved in the Open Access Network Austria. From 2011-2013, I was chairman of the Knowledge Management Forum in Graz. I have also been involved in the organization of several editions of Barcamp Graz, and the JTEL Summer School.
