About

Dr Peter Wade has since 1983 been involved in studies to determine and predict the fate and impact of chemicals on living systems. He has been involved in development of technology for mitigation and remediation of chemical impacts since 1991. He was awarded an Honours degree in Applied Chemistry, a Masters degree in modelling the behaviour of inorganic compounds in living systems, a Doctorate in the same (all from the University of the Witwatersrand), and performed post-doctoral studies in the Department of Medicinal Chemistry in determining the impact of radioactive chemicals on various organs of the human body. He is the author and co-author of over 180 contract reports, over 80 local and international conference presentations, over 80 publications arising from conference papers and 28 publications in peer-reviewed journals. Dr Wade is a member of the international Society for Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry. Currently Dr Wade is involved in projects utilising the skills behind: Specialist chemical expertise – Environmental and Industrial Chemistry, Waste characterisation – Specialist input into EIA processes, Ecological Risk Assessment, Computer modelling of system dynamics and chemistry of aqueous processes., Application of chemistry and toxicology for the protection of natural aquatic resources and Statistical analysis and interpretation of environmental chemical and biodiversity data.
